The SIA Conference will be organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) under the "Invest for Jobs" brand and as part of implementing the Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition" (SI Jobs) Programme on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Invest for Jobs

Under the "Invest for Jobs" brand, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has put together a package of measures to support German, European and African companies in investment activities that have a high impact on employment in Africa. The Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition" – the official title – offers comprehensive advice, contacts and financial support to overcome investment barriers.

The World Bank Group

The World Bank Group is one of the world’s largest sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries. Its five institutions share a commitment to reducing poverty, increasing shared prosperity, and promoting sustainable development.

United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)

UNIDO is a specialized agency of the United Nations with a unique mandate to promote, dynamize and accelerate industrial development. Their mandate is reflected in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: “Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation”, but UNIDO’s activities contribute to all the SDGs.

Industrial Development Authority (IDA)

IDA is a general economic authority responsible for executing the industrial policies set by the Ministry of Trade & Industry to stimulate and encourage investments in the industrial sector, formulate and implement policies of industrial land development and provision, and simplify industrial licensing procedures. 

Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI)

MTI adopts an ambitious vision which is "Industrial development to be the engine of sustainable and inclusive economic development in Egypt, which meet domestic demand and enhance exports growth, for Egypt to become a key player in the global economy and capable of adjusting to international developments."

Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI)

FEI overlooks the operations and tackles the barriers facing the entire industrial sector. This is achieved through 19 dynamic, highly active Chambers and 12 Decision Support Committees. Since its inception in 1922, FEI has been carrying out its responsibilities towards defending and supporting Egyptian industries. Therefore, FEI effectively advocates the common interests of its members and defends their positions towards governmental and legislative bodies, as well as other local and international associations. 

General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI)

GAFI aims at stimulating investment strategies in accordance with international best practices and in line with approved international standards in order to promote Egypt as a promising investment destination and enhance cooperation with investment agencies in the world. GAFI tries to attract investments in areas that Egypt has a competitive advantage in.

General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE)

The General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) aims at bringing businesses from around the region, while offering them easy access to the region’s markets and talents. SCZONE is designated to provide investors with world-class value-added supply chain industrial parks. SCZONE adopts investor-friendly business environment that will be a cornerstone for national development plans. 

The German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs)

AHKs are institutions of German foreign trade promotion. AHKs consisting of bilateral Chambers of Commerce Abroad, delegations and representative offices of German business, advise, support and represent German companies worldwide that want to establish or expand their foreign business. The Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce e. V. (DIHK) coordinates and continuously develops the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad. They are proportionately funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWK).
