Mr. Yasser Ahmed Abbas currently serves as executive vice president of GAFI for investment affairs and free zones with many job tasks including but not limited to supervising all processes related to services implementation and investors satisfaction in one stop shop sector and free zones sector , Coordination between the various sectors of GAFI in order to facilitate the services offered to investors and solve their problems, Coordination between the sectors of GAFI to develop plans and work systems on an ongoing basis , and Presenting to the Authority’s Board of Directors the requirements of the sectors development .
Previously Mr. Yasser held many administrative governmental positions starting as General Coordinator of the Internal Trade Modernization Program at Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, manager of the technical office of the Assistant Chairman of GAFI and Head of the Sinai Unit, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Internal Trade Development Authority at Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, and head of one stop shop sector at GAFI.
It is worth noting that assuming many of these positions over more than a decade has had a significant impact on developing the administrative and leadership skills necessary to develop the services provided to investors.

Eng. Mohamed Abdul-Kareem has executive experience of more than 30 years in various industrial sectors and long consulting experience in the fields of automation (digital conversion). He has extensive work in business transformation, change management, transformation strategies, strategic management, corporate governance, industrial development strategies, operations management, institutional development, and resource development.

Eng. Abdul Kareem held the position of CEO of a number of large companies, where the development of manufacturing and testing technology and transferring the latest technology were at the top of his priorities. This is through studying all industrial technologies in other countries and localizing the appropriate ones, in addition to setting comprehensive development plans and training members of senior and middle management to adapt to the new work system.

Mr. Cesar Barahona is lead advisor in the development of Eco-industrial parks, and industrial resource efficiency at UNIDO since 2016. He provides specialized advice on the implementation of projects in developing countries and economies in transition.
During his professional experience, he has been president of UNIDO's global network for Efficiency of Industrial Resources and Cleaner Production, with coverage in 65 countries. He has also served as a consultant for various international organizations and governments, coordinator of the Latin American Network for Cleaner Production, and a university professor.
Mr. Barahona is a mechanical engineer with a Master's in fluid mechanics and power generation from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the UK.

Sabine Becker (GIZ) is head of the BMZ commissioned sector project on ‘employment promotion in developing countries’. The project works on innovative solutions to employment promotion and on mainstreaming them in the German development cooperation. She has a Master degree in Political Science (Free University Berlin) and in Business Administration (Open University UK). Prior to joining GIZ in 2005 and serving in different positions in Headquarters and in Ethiopia (2009-12), she worked since 1990 mainly for the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva and in East Africa. Having completed further postgraduate studies in climate change and energy, Mags now works to ensure integration of just transition goals and principles in EU policy. She is committed to maximising synergies between social and climate goals for the joint benefit of people and planet.

Said CHARNA is an Algerian career diplomat who joined in 2019, as a Senior Advisor, the Economic Development and Employment Division “EDE” at the Union for the Mediterranean Secretariat.
Prior to that, he served at the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010-2013/2018-2019) where he was working on the implementation of the partnership agreement between the EU and Algeria as well as the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, notably in the framework of 5+5 Dialogue and the Union for the Mediterranean. From 2013 until 2017, he was Deputy Head of Mission at the Algerian Embassy in Croatia.
After he graduated in 2005 from the National School of Administration, he carried on his postgraduate studies to obtain a PhD in 2018 in Economics from the University of Algiers and a University Specialist Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy in 2017 from the University of Zagreb.

Dr. Marian Chertow is Professor of Industrial Environmental Management and Director of the Center for Industrial Ecology at the Yale University School of the Environment. Her research and teaching focus on industrial ecology, business/environment issues, circular economy and waste management. Her best-known research explores the study of industrial symbiosis which involves geographically based exchanges of materials, energy, water and wastes within networks of businesses globally. She is a frequent international lecturer and served on the Council of Canadian Academies (CCA) Expert Panel on Circular Economy. Previously, Professor Chertow spent ten years in environmental business and state and local government.

Ms. Emma El Adawy is the Communications Manager of Polaris Parks, an Industrial Developer Company that specializes in Industrial Parks development. Ms. Emma has more than 10 years of experience in marketing and communications, and joined Polaris Parks in 2015.

In her role as Communications Manager, Ms. Emma is responsible for developing and executing the company's communications strategy. Amr El Batrik has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Orascom Industrial Parks since June 2018. As the CEO, he has been instrumental in driving the company's strategic goals and ensuring its flexibility in response to the ever-changing demands of the marketplace. Raghda El Ebrashi is currently an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the German University in Cairo (GUC) and Head of the Management and Organization Department at the GUC. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2004 from the AUC and acquired her Master's Degree in Political Science from the AUC as well in 2007. She obtained her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the GUC in 2010. She has numerous academic research published in seminal international journals on social entrepreneurship, international business, and responsible management. Raghda is the founder and Chairwoman of Alashanek ya Balady Association for Sustainable Development (AYB-SD), which is currently one of the biggest NGOs in Egypt in the field of employment and microfinance. Raghda also currently serves as the Vice-Chair of Golden Years Foundation, working on the empowerment of the aging population in Egypt. She also served as a board member in the International Youth Foundation in the US from 2010 and till 2013, and has led various agricultural development and water projects in Africa from 2017 till 2019.

Raghda is a renowned consultant in the areas of strategy, inclusive business, social entrepreneurship and CSR. She led consulting projects for numerous multinationals, local conglomerates, and international organizations in these fields. In addition, Raghda received numerous international and national awards including: World Business Magazine (London) International award “35 under 35” in 2007; UNDP's (Malaysia) "100 global young social entrepreneurs" award in 2007; YouthActionNet Fellowship (US) in 2008; Synergos fellowship (US) in 2009; King Abdullah Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement (Jordan) in 2009; Young Global Leader (YGL) by the Schwab Foundation and the World Economic Forum (Switzerland) in 2010, and Ashoka Fellowship in 2010. Mr. El-Shiaty joined the World Bank Group in 2012. He is in charge of leading the policy dialogue and the design and implementation of reforms linked to a wide range of private and financial sector development issues, including investment climate, competition, trade, sector competitiveness, SOE reforms, financial inclusion and green finance. He has worked extensively on both sides of the World Bank Group (IBRD and IFC) on advisory and lending operations, predominantly in Egypt and Tunisia.

Prior to joining the WBG, El-Shiaty worked for Booz & Company (previously Booz Allen Hamilton), where he managed large strategy and implementation projects for governments and financial sector players in in the MENA region. Alessandro Flammini is Project Coordinator at the United National Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in the Division of Circular Economy and Environmental Protection, managing projects on sustainable industrial development in several countries. Before joining UNIDO, Alessandro worked for FAO as project manager on bioeconomy, climate and energy technologies, providing technical assistance to FAO, EBRD and World Bank projects in more than 25 countries around the world. He has a MSc in Management Engineering from the University of Bologna, a post-grad master in Management of Energy Resources, and a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Vienna University of Technology.

Ms. Shahenaz is the National Project Coordinator for the GEIPP Egypt project. Shahenaz joined the GEIPP Egypt project since 2022 and has been working for UNIDO for 17 years. Her main areas of experience in UNIDO are the development and implementation of the Montreal Protocol Programme and development of GEF projects in Egypt.

Prior to joining UNIDO, Ms. Shahenaz worked in projects for SEAM/DFID and OSP/Danida for the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency in Egypt. Guntram Glasbrenner has more than 25 years of experience working on practical solutions around resource efficiency, environmental management systems, climate adaptation in urban areas and reduction of environmental pollution in numerous countries in Eastern Europe, Asia and North Africa. He is a co-founder of the GIZ-SIA working group and has been working in the field of sustainable industrial park management for over 10 years, advising industrial park managers and state authorities and co-organising several SIA conferences. He holds a diploma (master's degree) in public administration and a postgraduate degree in European environmental management.

Sameh Hammad is a practitioner and expert in industrial development and international trade, he is currently heading the industrial clusters component of the Special Initiative for Jobs project in the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH – Egypt office, across his career he gained diversified experience from working in corporates, consultancy houses, banking sector, and development projects in Egypt, Middle East, and Africa.

Etienne Kechichian is a Senior Economist in the World Bank Group’s Latin America and Caribbean region. He has been leading the global work on eco-industrial parks for the past 12 years, which seeks to improve the competitiveness of manufacturing sectors through green and climate friendly policies and industry dialogue. He is currently expanding the World Bank’s knowledge capacity on circular economy and leading work on the link between climate resilience of industries and competitiveness. Prior to this work, Etienne worked globally on special economic zones projects. These projects helped improve the legal and regulatory framework governing SEZs in order to generate private sector investments into their development, management, and promotion.

Adham Khattaby is a Senior Portfolio Coordinator and local expert at Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) since 2019. Additionally, Mr. Khattaby brings over a decade of experience in banking and economics at one of the leading financial institutions in the Middle East. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Alexandria University (Egypt) and a master’s degree in law, economics and management from Université Montpellier 1 (France).

Peter Lindlau has been working in the software industry for over 30 years with great passion. Even today, his main focus is on in-depth software development. Over the past 10 years, his primary focus has been on digitalization in the production environment. This was triggered by the German Federal Government's funding project "eApps for Production", which lasted for 3 years and involved a consortium of industrial companies and the Fraunhofer IPA Institute. Peter gladly shares his expertise and experiences through lectures and workshops.

Mazen has more than 10 years in the field of sustainability and Industrial Development. He is currently working as an Advisor in the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit - GIZ. His main work is to support the private and public Industrial Areas to be more sustainable in terms of Management, Environmental, Social and Economic through introducing services that improve the performance of the companies and contribute to their growth.

He works also focuses on supporting the manufacturing SMEs in receiving better Business Development Services. Before that He worked for 6 years as Projects Coordinator in Egypt National Cleaner Production Center (ENCPC). His work at ENCPC included participation in Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production Audits and providing technical solutions for the industry.

The professional banking specialist joined the Stuttgart branch of Deutsche Bank in 1985. He spent a total of 16 thrilling years in corporates and finance in Stuttgart, Mumbai and Ho Chi Minh City before taking over the commercial restructuring of a major American furniture production facility in Vietnam for three years. Since 1997, Jan Noether has been responsible for the activities in Vietnam, China/Shanghai, Turkey and for almost 5 years now in Egypt in the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKn) at four-year intervals. Since 06/2021 he has been the world spokesperson of the global AHK network.

Amanda Nyingwa serves as a Technical Advisor on Resilient Economic Zones within the GIZ South Africa -Natural Resources Stewardship Programme (NatuReS). Her role involves guiding development of knowledge outputs alongside contributing and leading on diverse initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional capacities towards resilient and resource efficient economic zones including industrial parks. Amanda’s interests include promoting productive livelihoods through sustainable industrial development.

Bernd is senior programme manager at the NCPC-SA, heading up the eco-industrial parks programme for South Africa, which he started in the dtic to support the Just Transition for industry to a circular economy.

Norbert Reichl is General Manager of Food-Processing Initiative e.V.
since the establishment of the cluster organisation in the year 2001. He studied economics, political sciences and economic psychology at the University of Cologne and started his involvement with Food-Processing Initiative already in 1998.
Strategic cluster development on national and international level, designing innovation and collaboration projects, the dissemination of research results into practice as well as advising on internationalization are among his main tasks. Norbert Reichl is active in numerous projects and networks on regional, national, and European level with a broad range of topiccs like sustainability, digitalization, food safety, or HR management.

Eng. Bassel Mahmoud Shoirah is the General Manager of Polaris Parks. He is also Head of FEI’s Industrial Development Chamber and Vice Chairman of Egyptian Real Estate Development Chamber since 2016.

Eng. Shoirah initially joined Polaris Parks in 2014, as a Business Development Director for 2 industrial parks in 6th of October city with a total area of 3.1 million m2 with more than 40 reputable local and multinational investors.

Earlier to this, Eng. Shoirah joined the Public Private Partnership Central Unit (PPPCU) in Ministry of Finance in the capacity of Project Manager for the Utilities & Transport Sector in 2007.

Rana P. SINGH is working for Energy and Industrial development since 1992. His work relates to greening industries, scaling-up renewable energy, reinforcing policy, strengthening institutions, demonstrating projects and building national capacity. He is with UNIDO since 2007 but his earlier experiences includes that from World Bank, UNDP, Asian Development Bank, European Union and I/N/GOs. He has completed several energy and SMEs projects, authored manuals, prepared reports and published journal papers. He has received UNIDO Exemplary excellence award in 2012, Jean Pierre BRANS award for smart decision making in 2015 and Champion for Promoting Organizational Change AWARD 2016.

Nadine Stöcker has been working for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) since 2017. Currently, as advisor for Sustainable Industrial Areas (SIA), coordinating a company-wide working group on SIA and fostering the networking between the member projects in close exchange with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the World Bank Group. She holds a bachelor’s degree in retail management and a post graduate double degree in natural resources management and development. She gained six years of regional experience in Latin America (Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico), working related to climate change adaptation and rural development.

Christian Susan is an Austrian national. He holds a MSC in Integrated Water Resource Management and a MSC in Environmental Economics. Christian joined UNIDO in 2008 and has since worked as the project manager on a wide array of environmental projects in Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe as well as in Latin and Central America. Promoting public-private-partnerships for water stewardship, circular and sustainable industrial approaches, facilitating Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP), the Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies TEST) and supporting the transition towards Eco-Industrial are the main objective of the projects managed by Christian. In 2018 Christian has assumed management responsibility for the Swiss funded Global Eco-Industrial Park Program (GEIPP) as well as for the GEIPP country level interventions in Colombia, Indonesia, Peru and South Africa.

Dalia holds a Master’s Degree in Economics & Finance, and enjoys 25+ years of experience in Government Entities, Private Sector, and Business Associations. Her areas of expertise include strategic and business planning, corporate reform execution, project management, consultancy, training, business development, private equity, business matchmaking, as well as economic research and academic lecturing.

Her most recent previous position was Assistant Minister of Public Business Sector, responsible for reforming state owned enterprises, where she was responsible for following up the execution of various cross-sectoral projects, to ensure the various components of reform are moving in harmony. Besides handling international cooperation for the Ministry`s portfolio of around 100 companies plus 300 joint ventures.

Prior to that position, Dalia established the Egyptian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association between 2011 and 2018, and led the Central Bank Capacity building component of the banking sector reform program between 2004-2008. Dalia was also named among the Top 50 Women organized by Amwal El Ghad magazine in 2019, and Awarded by the Business Women of Egypt Association in 2020.

Vuong Thi Minh Hieu is Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Zone Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam.
She performs the state management of industrial zones and economic zones in Vietnam including planning, establishment, policy advisory and guidance, international cooperation with related counterparts, investment promotion activities and sustainable development.
She obtained a PhD of Asia Pacific Studies at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Japan and a Master of Public Policy at Korea Development Institute (KDI) of Public Policy and Management, Korea.

Klaus Tyrkkö is the Chief Technical Adviser for the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP) implemented by UNIDO. GEIPP is a 7-country program advancing the uptake of Eco-Industrial Parks practices and creating an EIP conducive policy environment.

Klaus served previously as division chief at UNIDO, policy advisory role at UNDP and the European Commission. Klaus started his career in manufacturing industry and has also served as consultant in more than 20 countries. Klaus has post-graduate degrees in Engineering, Environmental Policy and Business Administration from his native Finland, Belgium, and UK, respectively.

Prof. Dr. Hannes Utikal is head of the Center for Industry and Sustainability (CIS) at the industrial park Frankfurt Höchst. The Center is a think and do tank supporting the manufacturing industry in its sustainable development. CIS is part of the industrial park’s Provadis University of applied sciences and is leading the cluster www.process4sustainability.eu (cluster for the decarbonization of the process industries in the state of Hesse). In this context, the cluster has identified different scenarios towards net-zero for the industrial park.

Together with GIZ, Hannes has developed the virtual academy for sustainable industrial area management with 50+ participants since 2021 and is hosting a quarterly online community of practice for sustainable industrial area management. Hannes is co-editor of the open access Journal of Business Chemistry – the academic journal for management issues in the chemical industry – a plattform for sharing insights on sustainable industrial area management, too.

Dr. Dick van Beers is an International UNIDO Consultant, working on the knowledge component of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP), with a core focus on the development, implementation and training of UNIDO’s EIP tools (https://hub.unido.org/eco-industrial-parks-tools). Furthermore, Dick is supporting UNIDO with the implementation of GEIPP projects in South Africa, Colombia, Peru, and Viet Nam, covering the topics industrial park planning, industrial synergies, and EIP management. Dick has 23 years of experience on the planning, development and implementation of eco-industrial park approaches in more than 20 countries. He is passionate about working with industrial parks, companies, government agencies, and development organisations to improve their economic, environmental, societal performance.

Stefan Wenske has been working as business consultant in Southeast Asia, advising and supporting European companies with their investment decisions. Allocating investing companies to settle in industrial parks tailored to their specific needs was of crucial importance for a successful implementation.
Moving on and advising the Central Bank of Laos with the implementation of a financial system to improve access to finance for the rural population in 6 provinces.
Since July 2022, working as advisor for the GIZ Invest for Jobs Program in Rwanda to support the park operator to improve the operational sustainability and attractiveness of the Kigali Special Economic Zone.
